Each year, the same question comes up at the time of the end of year celebrations: How will you decorate your table, how to welcome your family or friends, what theme you will choose with the time, budget and space you have available. ?
Don’t panic, with entrepreneurial mag, learn how to make an original decoration simply and without breaking the bank to receive your guests at Christmas. Recycling is the right idea for a creative and inexpensive party table.
The challenge?
Recover as much as possible the elements that will compose it. So we pick up branches, pine cones, acorns, moss, wood chips during forest walks. For the table runner and the napkin rings, we rummage in our cupboards and in the fabric scraps. Put aside the small glass yoghurt pots to turn them into candle holders. The pieces of re-cut wood become knife holders. Old Christmas balls accompany figurine animals found in the children’s room. A little paint and glitter and you’re done! Has your white tablecloth lived and lost its sparkle? Give it a second youth thanks to the dye. Many colors (duck blue, pine green, red and even white) are available in stores for a reasonable price. After a quick spin in the machine, here is your tablecloth like new and so much more chic than a paper tablecloth. Bonus idea: use your gift ribbons to decorate the stem of glasses or tie your napkins.
A centerpiece to make yourself
Rather than spend a fortune at the florist on a bouquet for your centerpiece, what if you got your hands dirty? To create a pretty centerpiece, just fill a large transparent vase with a few golden balls. A word of advice: avoid table centerpieces that are too high which hiding the view of the guests, or too wide, which take up all the space on the table and do not encourage conviviality.
You can also simply imagine a gourmet centerpiece by placing a few shortbread cookies sprinkled with icing sugar or covered with glaze on small plates. They will decorate the table until dessert before being eaten! Another solution: revamp one of your tablecloths with a reasonable budget. Take out your sewing machine, pair of scissors, pins and a tape measure. Equip yourself with a white organdy coupon and a gold fabric paint pot. With a little patience and thoroughness, reproduce on your table a design pattern that you will have spotted. Don’t forget to put gold-colored decorative accessories on the table to complete the whole.
Candles and tealight holders for the atmosphere
No warm party table without suitable lighting. The essential for the occasion?Candles to be placed everywhere next to the dishes. For a classic and inexpensive decor, opt for simple candles or tealights placed in tealight holders. Keep bottles and jars in stock for use and display on your table. With golden thread, a few beads and a little imagination, they will turn into pretty candle holders. Why not use small logs for a cozy effect and a table that plays the card nature or even stick twigs to a large glass or a verrine to create a candle full of authenticity?
