BMW Motorrad believes in full-dress, American tour bikes, and the K1600 GTL leads the pack. It has been built keeping in mind luxury comfort while also focusing on safety. It comes loaded to the gills with features and gadgets along with an engine that offers flat-six performance, putting it bang in the power-tourer segment. The K1600 GTL is a huge bike with a lot of road presence. It gets a vast fairing at the front with a vented windshield that helps reduce head-buffet. It also sports a large xenon headlamp that gets self-leveling tech. There is also a pair of driving lights that help split the light. The seating on the GTL is very comfortable for both, the rider and the pillion. The wide, deep chair adds to the experience and the pillion has to step up a little to be seated at the rear. The top case doubles up as a backrest along with wide, fold-up foot pegs. When it comes to ride quality, it uses the factory’s Dynamic ESA system that electronically keeps a tab on vehicle attitude and riding conditions so it can automatically adjust its damper settings for the best comfort. The tyres offers loads of grip, and can handle almost anything. Thanks to the ABS Pro, the brakes perform remarkably well. The bike tackles corners impressively too and is very agile. At the front, the bike rides on Duolever suspension, while the rear gets a cast aluminium single-sided swing arm. The K1600 GTL runs on 120/70 ZR17 tyres at the front and 190/55 ZR17 tyres at the rear. Retardation duties are taken care of by disc brakes at the front and at the rear.
